Book Drive


Local theatre hosts Book Drive to support children in Norristown
September 9-October 3, 2010

Local non-profit Theatre Horizon will host a back-to-school book drive to benefit the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library in conjunction with the theatre’s production of a Broadway musical about spelling. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a Tony Award winning musical about misfit kids competing in the spelling contest of a lifetime, kicks off Theatre Horizon’s 2010/2011 Season and the fall book drive. Please help the library by buying a ticket for the October 2 performance as 20% of the ticket profits will be given to the library! For full details about the book drive, click here.

2010 Garden Series

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme-Something to Sing about!

Presented by Penn State Cooperative Extension Master Gardner Jane Irvin Klotz. Grow herbs for their fragrance, to make a lawn, to attract bees, for salads or to make into tea. Busy Bees Parent/Child Workshop

Wednesdays, September 22, 29, October 6, 13 at 10:30 a.m.

Parenting is a rewarding but challenging job. Take time with us to obtain quality information, ask questions and learn from others while children interact with you and others in a family friendly place.
Space is limited and registration is required for this 4 week workshop for caregivers and children ages birth to 3.

At Conshohocken…

Food for Fines! During the month of September, you bring the food, we waive the fines. For each non-perishable item donated, the overdue fine on a single library item will be waived, no matter the size of the fine. Now is the time to return those long overdue library books! New and existing fines will be waived, but replacement fees for lost books will not. All donations go to the Colonial Neighborhood Council to benefit local families. What’s New at MCNPL!


TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks are created by adding animation, sound, music and narration to existing picture books in order to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.

Support Your Library


JustGive.org is underwritten by corporate sponsors, and provides secure online opportunities for people to contribute to their favorite charities via credit cards. Join us for Angelina Ballerina Story Time on September 28 at 11:15 AM for ages 2, 3, and 4. Call the library to pre-register, space limited to 12 participants. Enjoy an Angelina Ballerina story with dance instructor Miss Kelly; then learn some ballet steps and enjoy a simple craft. Children may come in a dancing outfit or borrow one of our tutus. Join us at the library for some fun and informative events in September. The Teen Book Club meets every first Wednesday of the month. September’s selection is Armageddon Summer by Jane Yolen. Crazy for Caterpillars with Master Gardener Sandi Yanisko is here on Fri., Sept. 10 at 10:30 am for recommended ages 2-6 with adult. At Upper Perkiomen…


We had our princess tea, now it’s something for the guys! Dads, come out with your children and have a great time doing a special project. Fun snacks too. Dads and dudes night out is on Thursday, September 16 at 7 pm. You must be registered for this program. Space is limited to 24 children.
