Bookmobile Policies and Procedures
- Through AUTOMATION, you have access to materials in libraries throughout the nation. Library cards are free. Requests may be made on the www.mc-npl.org site, through request slips, or by calling Sue at 610-278-5100 x122. You will be notified by e-mail or telephone when your requested material is available.
- LOAN periods will vary according to the next scheduled visit, type material, and whether it is a new title. The receipt print out will clearly state the due date of each resource checked out. If a bookmobile fails to meet its stop, materials will be due on the next scheduled visit to that stop. Materials to be picked up will be held for the next time.
- RENEWALS may be placed on items based on the number of allowed renewals for that item. Renewals are item specific and may not be placed if there is a hold (another patron waiting to borrow the resource) placed on the item. There are no renewals for DVDs. Materials checked out on the bookmobiles may be returned to any bookmobile or any Montgomery County library.
- BOOKMOBILE DVDs are borrowed for a two-week period or longer if your next scheduled stop exceeds the two-week period. The charge is $1.00/video for the two week loan, and the late fee is $2.00/day with a maximum fine of $30.00.
- FINES FOR OVERDUE MATERIALS: Adult materials 15˘ per day and Children’s materials 10˘ per day with an $8.00 maximum assessment. Overdue fines from other libraries may vary. Lost items must be reimbursed at full cost.
- Each BORROWER IS RESPONSIBLE for all materials drawn on his/her card and for all fines accrued. LOST CARDS should be reported immediately. There is a $3.00 charge for replacement of lost library cards.
- QUESTIONS about fines, renewals, or other circulation/materials procedures should be addressed to Linda, Assistant Head Bookmobile & Outreach Services Department, at 610-278-5100 x123. It is our goal to meet your needs while providing all patrons with fair, consistent, and individual assistance.
