HEAD, CHILDREN’S SERVICES
Seeking FT, MLS-accred, PA-cert Professional Librarian to lead 7-person dept. Must have min. 5 yrs pub library exper as Youth Services Librarian, incl. 1-2 yrs in supervisory capacity. Commitment to highest-quality customer service essential. Must have excel written & verbal communi skills, thorough understanding youth-centered best practices, experience w/ library automation systems & understanding technical processing of mat’ls. Responsible for budget, statistics, personnel matters, grant-writing, & will develop/maintain relationships w/ various community agencies, municipalities, & Norristown Area School District. Must have excel resource & time management & problem-solving skills. Will develop innovative educ programs for 0-12-yr-olds, maintain existing programs & participate in Summer Reading Program & District-wide Science-in-the-Summer activities. Will oversee dept publicity ,including children’s portion of library’s website, & monthly program schedule. Resp for materials selection & Collection maintenance.
