DOWNLOADABLE AUDIO BOOKS ARE HERE!

The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library provides downloadable digital audio books on a wide range of subjects and for all ages. This collection is made possible by funding through the District Library of Montgomery County.

To Access digital audio books you will need:

A valid library card for the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library

A computer with access to the Internet (preferably broadband)

Free digital audio book software (Overdrive Media Console) for your computer and/or device on which you wish to use the material you download from the site. This free software is available on the library’s digital collection website

Try it with just 4 easy steps:

On your home, work or school computer, download, install and register the Overdrive Media Console software

Select your audio books to download

Check out your audio books with your library card

Download to your computer and enjoy Audio to Go!



SPECIAL NOTES:

Audio books can be enjoyed at home, work or when you travel but are not for use on computers at the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library and its four branches. All files must be downloaded to your personal computer.

Audio books can be transferred to portable devices such as compatible MP3 players, PDAs, and Smartphones. Many audio books can also be burned to CD.

Audio books are listed in the online catalog, but cannot be reserved in the catalog. Reserves for audio books must be placed on the Montgomery County Library District Overdrive website.

The collection has titles available in two different formats. Only the “MP3” format can be downloaded to Apple products and transferred to iPods. Check the website for more information about compatibility.
